Boys Varsity Soccer

The Boys Varsity Soccer team had a great season this fall. They started off the season strong with a win at their Evanston tournament for the first time in 12 years on September 8. Another season highlight was a 2-0 record at their tournament in Ohio. The team finished with a final season record of 13-7-2 and won the ISL Championship. Caxy Colton Dunford ’26, Diego Pedroza ’26 and Kristian Kopacz ‘26 were all named to the ISL first team, and Rodrigo Gutierrez-Hinojosa ’28 was named to the second team. Kristian Kopacz ‘26 also won ISL Co-Player of the Year.

Boys Varsity Golf

Boys Varsity Golf had a strong season this fall, finishing second in the ISL Championship on September 24. Fitz Knight ‘27, Veer Patwardhan ‘29, Louie Raines ‘27 and Mason Martin ‘28 were all nominated for the ISL All-Conference team. After the competitive season was over, a season highlight was the annual intrasquad Gerber Cup. Thomas Park ‘27 said he enjoyed his underdog win to help his blue team win the cup. The team has no graduating seniors this year and will return in full form next fall ready to compete for an ISL title.

Boys Varsity Cross Country

This year, Boys Varsity Cross Country had a tremendous season. Finishing third at the ISL Championship on October 16 and first in the JV division at the Lake Forest High School “Lights Out” two mile night race on October 8 were two of the season’s highlights. Valor Cutaia ‘26 and Albert Hou ‘28 both placed in the top ten at the ISL Championships and were named all conference. Numerous other runners hit personal records as well. On the season’s success, Sam Baksht ‘27 said, “I enjoyed running with my teammates, we all struggled and improved together, forming lasting relationships.”

Girls Varsity Golf

Girls Varsity Golf had their most successful season in program history this year, finishing off the season on September 24 as ISL champions. Aurora Du ‘28 also won the ISL individual championship, and was named ISL player of the year. Two other Caxys, Mary Sheeringa ‘26 and Hanna Self ‘29, also achieved all conference honors. This was the first year of girls golf under new head coach Rich Lee, and the team saw incredible success even after losing many key seniors last year.

Girls Varsity Cross Country

This fall, Girls Varsity Cross Country put on a strong showing. They achieved fourth place at the ISL championship on October 16 along with a JV win at the 2-mile LFHS “Lights Out” meet. Abbey Welsh ‘28 won first place in multiple races and had podium finishes in a few more. Lots of other runners hit personal best times as well. The season’s effort culminated with a nomination for the ISL Team Sportsmanship Award, showing how close the team grew over this season.

Girls Varsity Swimming

This fall, Girls Varsity Swimming enjoyed a terrific season, with multiple swimmers breaking school records. Four Caxys finished first in the ISL in six events. LFA records were set by Defne Kocak ‘26 in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, Kendall Philips ‘28 in the 50 and 100 freestyle and E.B. Poska ‘28 in the 500 freestyle. These three, along with Siran Yang ‘27, combined to reach a new record in the 200 medley relay.

Girls Varsity Field Hockey

The Girls Varsity Field hockey season this year was very successful. Team energy and camaraderie was high and they saw four players receive First Team All-ISL honors: Christina Quiroz ‘26, Peyton Pollak ‘26, Zoe Wolfberg ‘26 and Robin Paisley ‘27. The team has a lot of seniors this year but will look to build on this successful season next fall.

Girls Varsity Tennis

This year’s Girls Varsity Tennis team had an amazing season, culminating in the first and third doubles winning at the ISL Championship on October 11; the team also earned an overall result of second place in the ISL. For Caroline Bierig ‘27, this was the highlight of the season, and Kyra Quinn ‘27 was especially proud of beating an especially tough U-High team.

Girls Varsity Volleyball

Girls Varsity Volleyball had a strong season, even with some tough losses along the way. The season effort ended in a bright spot at the last home game, where the Caxys managed a victory over Willows Academy in a close game on October 21. Senior captain Emmie Greer also earned all ISL honors.
