Singer songwriter Noah Kahan is having quite the year, releasing his first documentary Noah Kahan: Out of Body on April 13, dropping his newest album, The Great Divide, on April 24 and the deluxe on that same day, and looking ahead to his summer and fall of stadium touring. His new album is one of my favorites he has ever released, and it marks a defining moment in his artistic career.

Noah Kahan: Out of Body was released on Netflix in mid April and hit the top ten instantly. The documentary runs just under two hours and follows Kahan as he manages his rapid rise to stardom following his hit album Stick Season in 2022. The documentary offers a raw and vulnerable look into Kahan’s Vermont childhood, behind the scenes of his sold-out shows, and his intense personal struggles with body dysmorphia, anxiety, and depression. Through his vulnerability, Kahan gives insight into his private life, and the viewer sees the importance of his family and hometown, the inspiration for most of his songs. Instead of a typical rise to stardom story, Kahan’s documentary provides insight into his insecurity and “out of body” feelings of navigating his success as an artist. There is a strong contrast between Kahan playing songs on his hometown streets and selling out Fenway Park in Boston and Madison Square Garden in New York City. The documentary was released 11 days before his new album, and helped to build anticipation and engagement for his new content, which I appreciated.

The Great Divide album cover

Like the majority of his music, The Great Divide is a mix of folk, pop, indie, and rock, and features 17 tracks, all drawn from deep vulnerability and addressing familial “dirty laundry,” mental health, and self-discovery, as he said in Out of Body. Billboard, a music publication that ranks songs, albums, and artists on industry-standard Billboard charts, has ranked the song “The Great Divide,” which was released as a single on January 30, 2026, as the top song of the album.

Billboard writes how the song provides powerful lyrics of understanding, regret, and forgiveness, while still maintaining a catchy beat. On the same day as the album release, Kahan surprised viewers with a deluxe edition of his newest album, titled The Great Divide: The Last of the Bugs, the name being a nod to his TikTok followers. This deluxe album features four additional tracks, but still maintains the original album’s themes of friendship and personal growth. Throughout the original album and the deluxe edition, Kahan reflects on how his success has impacted various relationships in his life, including with himself, and the extreme disconnect he has felt as a result of his fame. Both the original album and the deluxe are available to stream on major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

Kahan will begin The Great Divide Tour on June 11, 2026, and will end December 7, 2026. So far, more than 1 million tickets have sold across 30 concerts, and many of his shows are sold out. Kahan will play at Fenway Park in Boston for 4 nights of the tour: July 7, 8, 10, and 11. Get tickets here

In past years, Kahan has collaborated with artists like Post Malone on “Dial Drunk.”, Hozier on “Northern Attitude,” and Gracie Abrams on “Everywhere, Everything.” Although 2025 was a relatively calm year for the multi-platinum, 2x Grammy nominated singer, 2026 is looking to be a massive year for Kahan.
