This year, Dana Hall’s Varsity Lacrosse team won the 2025 EIL Championships for the first time since 2012. On May 16, Dana Hall played against The Winsor School, where they won 10-8. On May 19, they moved on to participate in the McCoy Cup, a tournament for the top teams in New England, where they played against Pingree but lost 5-17.
“Winning the championships felt really exciting. Last year, we lost in the finals and it felt really good to actually take it back after 13 years without having it,” said captain Addison Bennett ‘26.
Player Kate Sutphin ‘28 said, “It was a really hard game but we held in there, and it was definitely rewarding. I think without each other, we wouldn’t have been able to succeed as much as we did.”
“I think one thing that was super helpful this year was how much team bonding we had. If this team did not have a good bond and good chemistry, we wouldn’t have played well on the field together, but luckily we had a super close team,” said player Julia Fattaey ‘26.
Julia said that head coach Janet Sullivan “was super helpful because she always encouraged us while also being hard on us, but in a supportive way, which made us keep pushing. It never made us want to give up, and made us want to keep working harder.”
Next spring, Addison said, “I think we are all going to be one year stronger. This team has given me some of my closest friends and I know we have so much potential next year.”
