We are back with a brand new edition of Meal of the Month. For new readers, this is a monthly review and comprehensive critique of all lunches served in the month prior. Read on to learn about how our critics viewed (and tasted) every meal from October, from a legendary week of food to this month’s crowned meal.

Overall, the average rating for all meals from this last month came in at a score of 6.56 out of 10, the best score that our judges have encountered yet. Some of the notable highlights from this past month include the famed “pulled pork Cubano sandwich,” which was named the best meal of the month multiple times last year, and received remarkable scores of 9 across the board this month. “Italian subs” also made an appearance on the menu and collected an average rating of 8.5. Moreover, Mr. Maws put together a masterful week starting on 10/1, where dishes such as “chicken tenders” and “sweet and spicy chicken” led our panel of critics to give an average rating of 8.15 for the entire week.

The meal that ultimately took the preeminent crown, however, was the “chicken tenders.” Accompanied by bowls of honey mustard, buffalo, and barbeque sauce, the tenders received unanimous praise from all students; Will Jones ’26 said that “the tenders are objectively the best food that comes from the kitchen. I loved every bite.” Moreover, the sides of the dish — “mac & cheese” and “steamed green beans” — only added to the experience. The tenders and the support for them have been undoubtedly the most popular and well-received of the year. We hope that this momentum continues into the future and that the kitchen can prolong its success. As our chefs always say, “Bon appetit.”
