Boys Varsity Hockey

After a slow start to the year, Boys Varsity Hockey has found their rhythm and are now finding themselves on the brink of being .500. “This season is far from over” both coaches reassured the team as they neared winter break. Once the team returns, the team hopes to build momentum and respond well to the upcoming heavy schedule of games.

Girls Hockey

Over a month into their season, the Girls Varsity Hockey team, holding a winning record, is beginning to find its footing in the league. Facing many teams with incredibly skilled and experienced players, the squad of only twelve players and two goalies has been able to emerge victorious. In the girls’ 4-3 win over Chicago Central on November 24, the girls bounced back, avenging their previous heartbreaking loss to Central two weeks prior. Looking ahead, the girls will face tough opponents, including the Burlington Grizzlies, in the months ahead.

Boys Basketball

The Boys Varsity Basketball team started their season playing in a Thanksgiving tournament at New Trier High School against several powerhouses. “I want to be competitive in every game, with it being tight in the 4th quarter if we are not yet ahead,” said Head Coach Kyle Koncz. The team is excited for a fresh start and hopes to build momentum heading into break and continue that once they arrive back.

Girls Basketball

Continuing their victorious legacy, the Girls Varsity Basketball team has started on a strong note, winning the Vernon Hills Cougar Classic Thanksgiving Tournament in a clean sweep across all five games in their first tournament of the season. As Blanka Devai ‘27 said, “The team is full of really talented players. I hope we can continue working together on the court and playing as a team.”

Varsity Squash

After a weekend sweep on November 24 against CPS and MetroSquash, LFA Squash improves to 4-0 on the season, previously achieving victory over Latin and LFHS. They have been dominant in league play, with the top nine individually going 25-8 in matches. “We are the strongest team so far. Four wins in the beginning of our campaign is really good for us.” Head Coach Islam Adel commented.
