On November 3, Ms. Zener led a delegation of eight students to the Phillips Exeter Academy Model United Nations. The group saw issues ranging from the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus to clean water access, and Ethan Ho ’26 and Duncan Beirne ’29 won Outstanding Delegate Awards. Club Leader Alex Laidlaw ’25 explained, “It’s exciting to see the guys winning awards. Although our program isn’t the largest, we are still able to find success at these conferences, a testament to the hard work and dedication the boys put in to prepare for each conference.”
The following weekend, for the tenth year, nine students formed the delegation to the Brown University Simulation of the United Nations. Belmont Hill’s roles included the Dean of Georgetown University, Belize, and even Spongebob’s Larry the Lobster. Alex continued, “The opportunity to sit down and discuss the issues facing our globe with people from all over the world was really informative for the guys, not to mention fun.”
Ms. Zener noted that the team “learned a lot from the experience and enjoyed the chance to meet delegates from around the world and to experience Brown’s campus from the inside out.”
