The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23-25. All 32 NFL teams will have the chance to select the highest-rated collegiate players to join their team for the upcoming season. The Las Vegas Raiders hold the 1st overall pick after completing the NFL season with an unfortunate 3-14 regular season record. Most draft analysts have the Raiders selecting Quarterback Fernando Mendoza out of Indiana University. He is coming off a remarkable season with Indiana, winning the Heisman Trophy and the National Championship. On the defensive side, draft analysts project standout players like Safety Caleb Downs and versatile Edge Rusher Arvell Reese from Ohio State to be selected early in the first round. Additional top prospects include Rueben Bain (Edge Rusher, Miami), Carnell Tate (Wide Receiver, Ohio State), and Jeremiyah Love (Running Back, Notre Dame). Over seven rounds, these teams will attempt to balance their immediate needs with the best players available to become the cornerstones of their respective franchises.
Coming into the draft, our New England Patriots hope to fill major roster holes following their poor performance in Super Bowl LX. The Patriots need to address key roster spots at edge rusher, wide receiver, and fill spots on the offensive line. With the Patriots selecting 31st overall in the first round, top prospects expected to be available include Cashius Howell (Edge Rusher, Texas A&M), Kevin “KC” Concepcion (Wide Receiver, Texas A&M), and Keylan Rutledge (Guard/Center, Georgia Tech). With eleven draft picks, the second most in the league, the New England Patriots are in a good position to provide roster depth and address important needs before the 2026-2027 season. Another possibility is a potential trade of our first round pick in hopes of acquiring a star player such as A.J. Brown from the Eagles. After a stellar season in 2025, the Patriots need to utilize their draft picks well in order to have the team in a strong spot for the upcoming season.
