On October 25 and 26th, Dana Hall’s annual homecoming and family weekend took place where the school’s sport teams played against rival school Newton Country Day School and families came to students’ classes and activities.
Varsity volleyball won 3-0, varsity soccer tied 1-1, cross country lost by 3 and field hockey lost 7-1. Varsity volleyball captain Brookylnn Phillips ‘25 says “I’ve been on varsity since I was a sophomore and we had never won against NCDS so it was really exciting winning and I love the team.”
Even though varsity field hockey lost, “homecoming is still one of my favorite games in the whole year, and even though we lost, it felt great to play with my team since we are such a close knit group of people”, Captain B O’Donnell ‘25 says.
Junior varsity volleyball won 2-0 and junior varsity soccer lost 1-0. Anissa Toe 26’ says “although we lost, I think we played really well, and I can’t wait to again next year” about the soccer game.
Luina Qiao 26’, who watched the under the lights varsity soccer game said, “I had fun eating the waffles and watching the game in general. There weren’t as many people as I expected, I thought there would be a lot more, but it was fun cheering and just watching them up from the hill, they look like little ants.”
During family weekend, parents participated in their children’s classes to experience a day in the life of their child; they also met with faculty members.
