This year’s Fall Concert took place on November 5th at 6:30 PM in the chapel. There was also a shorter version performed on Friday of the same week during morning chapel. Everyone in the ensembles was looking forward to these dates, as it marked the first big performance for all the ensembles. The performing ensembles include the Symphonic Orchestra, the Upper School Jazz Band, the Jazz Combo, the Middle School Jazz Band, and B-Flats. Music Director Mr. Fiori said, “It will be an interesting concert in some ways because there are a couple of groups that will be in different formations than they used to be. The B-Flats actually rehearse in a couple of different sections now, so for some of these guys it will be their first time getting up and performing with the whole group.”.

These concerts are also a good way to see if you’re interested in playing in one of these ensembles. Mr. Fiori says “The concerts are available to everyone,” and he encourages those thinking about playing an instrument to drop by and watch. The best way to start in one of these ensembles would be to have a conversation with either Mr. Fiori or Brother P. “Sometimes students are a little nervous about whether they have the right experience level or ability level, and very often we can advise them no matter where they’re at and they can jump in right away, whether it be from beginner private lessons to straight to the ensemble.” Overall, the Fall Concert was a major success, with an enthusiastic audience sitting in the Chapel cheering on our various ensembles.
